Michigan students can prepare safely and confidently for school athletics with a sports physical at The Pediatric Place. Also called a preparticipation physical examination, this visit reviews medical and family history and evaluates readiness for physical activity.
Dr. Sweety Srivastava discusses previous injuries, medications, allergies, chronic conditions, concussions, and exercise-related symptoms. The examination includes vital signs and assessments of the heart, lungs, abdomen, vision, strength, flexibility, joints, and overall health. If concerns arise, she explains recommended next steps before participation.
